CYNTHIA ANN “CINDY” WILLIAMS BUSHEY, age 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2026. She was born on December 1, 1948 in Fayette County to the late George U. and Helen M. (McFarren) Williams. She was a 1967 graduate of Washington High School. Cindy lived most of her life in Washington CH before making Hamilton, Ohio her home.
Cindy was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, sister-in-law, and friend whose greatest joy came from the people she loved. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Ladd M. Bushey, in January of 1970. Although Cindy and Ladd did not have children of their own, she opened her heart and home to Kimberly and Stephanie Howdon, whom she loved as her own.
Cindy was a woman who loved taking care of others. She especially enjoyed cooking for her family and preparing wonderful meals during the holidays. She loved baking, with German chocolate cake being one of her specialties and favorites.
She was also an incredibly talented crocheter. Cindy could crochet anything, including beautiful afghans, booties, hats, and countless other handmade treasures. Her creations were made with love and became special gifts for the people fortunate enough to receive them.
Cindy had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved cat, Kiki. Kiki was a treasured companion and brought Cindy great comfort and happiness. Her love for animals was an important part of who she was.
Cindy also shared an especially special bond with her nephew, Steven Howdon. Steven was the son she never had, and he held a special place in Cindy’s heart. He was always there to take care of her, both during Ladd’s lifetime and after Ladd passed away. Steven continued to care for Cindy and be there for her until the day she passed. Their bond was one of deep love, devotion, and family.
In addition to her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ladd M. Bushey; sister, Georgia J. “Georgie” Adkins; and special cousin and friend, Brenda Paul.
She will be remembered for her loving heart, her generosity, her wonderful cooking and baking, her beautiful crocheting, her love of animals, and most of all, the love and care she gave to her family.
Cindy’s memory will live on in the many people whose lives she touched, in the handmade treasures she created, in the family traditions she cherished, and in the countless memories she leaves behind.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Washington Cemetery with Danny Dodds officiating. Family and friends may visit at the Summers Funeral Home on Friday morning from 10-10:30 a.m.
