DANIEL WAYNE BREAKFIELD, SR., age 71, of Leesburg, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2026 at his home.

He was born on May 30, 1955 in Washington CH to the late Pearl and Barbara (Knedler) Breakfield. He was a 1973 graduate of Miami Trace High School. Daniel retired from PAS Technologies Incorporated in Hillsboro where he worked as a machinist. He was one of the original founders of the Wayne Township Fire Department and worked as a fire fighter for many years. Daniel attended the New Martinsburg Community Church. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing, spending time with his family, and was also an avid Ohio State fan.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Wendy Lee (Sowards) Breakfield, whom he married on July 29, 1995; his children, DJ Breakfield and his fiancé, Erica Savag, Misty (Jeremiah Oyer) Breakfield, Josh (April) Breakfield, Nicole (Greta) Mathews, Mindy (Harold) Roberts, and Travis (Nichole) Mathews; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Peggy Daugherty, Pat Hahn, and Polly (Kevin) Waldron; uncle, Leo Stacy; and aunt, Jana Knedler. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Garrison officiating with burial to follow at the Good Hope Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
