DAVID GRAYSON GROVES, age 76, of Washington CH, formerly of Jeffersonville, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016 at 11:52 a.m. at the Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born on March 10, 1939 in Fayette County to Clifford and Inez Huff Groves. He was a 1959 graduate of Jeffersonville High School. He retired from the Morris Bean Company in 1999. He had served in the Ohio National Guard. He was a member of the Pleasantview Church of Christ and later attended the Bible Baptist Temple. He coached baseball and basketball for many years, collected arrowheads and enjoyed fishing. David was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Groves, sisters Rebecca Gill and Kay Rinehart. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Truitt Groves, whom he married on October 30, 1964; his children Wendi Manor and Gretchen (J.C.) Gilmore; grandchildren Karl Manor and his fiancé Andria, Michael Manor and special friend Alisha, Adam Joseph, Isaac and Josh Gilmore; great-grandchild Grayson Manor; brothers Joe Groves and Harry (Viola) Groves; sisters-in-law Esther Groves and Gale Truitt and brother-in-law Marion Gill as well as nephews, niece, cousins and a host of friends. The graveside service will be held on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Jim Smith and Dr. Lyn Jackson officiating. All friends and family are invited to attend the service. There will be no viewing.
