Obituary

DAVID MICHAEL "MIKE" FORD, SR., age 69, of Washington CH, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at 10:14 p.m. at his home.

He was born on March 24, 1951 in Franklin County to Donald Gordon and Donna Belle (Shonkwiler) Ford. He was a 1969 graduate of Miami Trace High School and had lived all of his life in this community. Mike retired in 2013 from Kenworth Truck Company in Chillicothe after forty years of service. Mike and his wife Brenda were heavily involved in the Youth and Bus Ministries at the former Gregg Street Church of Christ in Christian Union, now Heritage Memorial Church. Mike was a faithful and dedicated servant at Heritage Memorial Church, serving as a Trustee and Board Member for many years. The children and youth of Heritage Memorial Church loved, "Mr. Mike." He was known for his soft-spoken voice and creative ways to keep children engaged in learning God's word. He enjoyed music, serving God, participating in his grandchildren's events, and being with his family.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Douglas Dean Ford; uncle, Harold Shonkwiler; and father-in-law, Rev. Clarence Schirm.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Brenda Sue Schirm Ford, whom he married on December 5, 1969; children, David Michael Jr. (Gigi) Ford, Silas Wesley (Anita) Ford, and Rachel Sue Hicks; grandchildren, Ryan David (Kelsy) Ford, Jordan Michael (Charmion) Ford, Bradyn Neil Ford and his fiancé, Ravon, Morgan Lynne Ford, Chandler (Kristen) Ford, Sidney Bree (Jennifer) Ford, and Hayden Alan Hicks; great-grandchildren, Ava, Emma, Kellan, Chloe, Ares, Brilynne, Carter, Avery, Azai, and Heath; siblings, Diane (Ed) Armintrout, and Darlene (Pat) Coil; sister-in-law, Diana Ford; and mother-in-law, Annabelle Schirm. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear friends.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Church, 1867 US Highway 35 NW, Washington CH, OH 43160, with burial to follow at the South Solon Cemetery with Rev. Joe Duvall officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Thursday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
