Obituary

DAVID W. PERRY, age 67, of Frankfort, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016 at his home. He was born on October 2, 1948 in Bloomingburg, Ohio to Ernest and Thelma Yerian Perry. He was a 1966 Miami Trace High School graduate and had also attended Columbus State. David had worked as a custodian at Cherry Hill School and received his Boiler's License. He had been a supervisor for Wallick Properties and most recently was self-employed doing home repairs and maintenance. David proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era and serving two tours in the Tonkin Gulf. He spent time on two ships, the USS Bronstien and The USS Natchez. David enjoyed working on his 1950 Ford truck, and attending car shows. He loved playing the dobro, as part of the band "Seven Mile Bluegrass Band of Frankfort. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Orville, Doris, Chuck and Jim. Survivors include his wife, Marsha Rayburn Perry, whom he married on October 25, 1970; siblings, Ed Perry, Lois (Robert) West, Frank (Rita) Perry, Nina Nash, and Barbara (Roger) Wiget as well as several in-laws, cousins and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He is also survived by his feline companion, Sissy. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Dr. Ernie Perry officiating. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
