Obituary

DAWN WARNER, age 88, of Jeffersonville, passed away at 2:05 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, her death was sudden and unexpected. Born on October 16, 1936, in Williamsport, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Howard P. and Agnes I. Donohoe Puffinbarger. On June 5, 1954, she married the love of her life, Harold E. Warner, who preceded her in death on April 23, 2009, after nearly fifty-five wonderful years.

Dawn was a 1954 graduate of Atlanta High School in Pickaway County and had worked as a homemaker for most of her life, creating a beautiful and loving home for her family. She loved to clean, kept an immaculate house, kept her yard pristine, and had beautiful flower gardens. Dawn enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, always cooking too much food and made sure there was plenty to take home and share.

Later in life, she began working at SHOWA Aluminum in Mt. Sterling on the production line. She also had worked for both Murphy Mart as a Payroll Clerk, and at Madison Seed Company. Dawn was a member of the Jeffersonville United Methodist Church where she was involved with organizing the semi-annual rummage sale with her dear church friends. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping, especially with her daughter, Jomi, and often visited thrift stores and flea markets. Dawn also enjoyed working puzzles of all kinds, especially Crossword Puzzles with her morning coffee. She also enjoyed good old country music, going to the beach and spending time with her family as often as possible. She was an avid baseball fan, never missing her grandson's games when they were playing.

Survivors include her children, Jomi (Tom) Ward and Jeff Warner, all of Jeffersonville; her grandchildren, Cory (Ashlee) Ward, Brady Ward (Fiona McCullough), and Griff Ward; and her great grandchildren, Avery and Grant. Also surviving is her sister, Dana Corns of Greenfield, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

In addition to her parents and her loving husband, Dawn was preceded in death by her infant son, Keith; her sister, Dema Keaton; her brother, David Puffinbarger; her brothers in-law, John Corns, Veryl Keaton and Ira Warner; and her sisters in-law, Carolyn Puffinbarger, Shirley Carroll and Patty Warner.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the Gathering Place Church with Pastor John Pfeifer officiating, burial to follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Jeffersonville. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
