DELCIE MAE BOWMAN, age 87, of Washington CH, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 1:56 p.m. at her home with her children by her side.
She was born on August 4, 1934 in Adams County, Ohio to Norman and Marjorie (Grooms) Copas and was the oldest of six children.
Delcie had worked at Pennington Bakery and Ontario Bakery and also was a private caretaker. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, spending time with her family and friends, and taking care of others. She attended the former First Christian Church in Washington CH.
On May 17, 1963, she married her beloved husband, Theodore Richard "Ted" Bowman, who preceded her in death on November 6, 2018. Along with her husband, Delcie is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Virgil Eugene "Bootie" Copas, and Sharon (Delbert) Knisley; and son-in-law, Stephen Lee Sohn.
Survivors include her children, Roger Copas, and Pamela Sohn; grandchildren, Jeremy (Lori) Tuttle, Jamie (Matt) Rankin, Jason (Shawnie) Copas, Brandan (Henry) Copas, and Sara (Daniel) Sohn-Neuenschwander; great-grandchildren, Gabriel DeHaven, Cheyenne Tuttle, Kylen Eskens, Trevor Copas, Braylon Copas, and Thayer Neuenschwander; siblings, Norma McCown, Patricia Garinger, and Lonnie (Teresea) Copas; and sister-in-law, Carol Copas. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of dear and special friends.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Henderson officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and burial will be held at the Washington Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
