DERRICK SCOTT MASSIE, age 31, of Washington CH, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 12:32 p.m. at the Mt. Carmel St. Ann's Hospital. He was born on May 20, 1984 in Fayette County to Larry and Barbara Harper Massie. He had attended Miami Trace High School and worked in construction with his father. He had attended the Era Pilgrim Holiness Church, was an avid Buckeye fan, enjoyed fishing, and loved being in contact with all of his friends and Facebook friends. He was loved by everyone who knew him. Derrick is survived by his parents, his grandmothers, Lucinda Harper and Norma Jean Massie; aunts and uncles Lonnie (Michelle) Harper, Jerry (Kathy) Harper, Sharon (Don) Harris, Juanita Massie and Lora Daugherty; special cousins and girlfriend, Beth Nordstrom and best buddy, Pete Leasure. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Bloomingburg Cemetery.
