DIXIE LEE DEWEES, age 85, of Washington CH, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 6:15 a.m. at Fayette County Memorial Hospital.

She was born on September 10, 1932 in Fayette County to Clarence "Weasel" and Sarah Katherine Wilson Dewees. She was a 1950 graduate of Washington High School. Dixie retired from Time Warner Cable and had worked as their office manager. She was a long time member of the Sweet Adelines singing group. She enjoyed singing, rescuing and raising animals, and being with her family and friends.

Dixie was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Edith Clawson, Peggy Self, and Donna Murdock.

Survivors include her children, Michael (Vicki) Clay, Roxy Hensley, and Kyle Anderson; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; special niece, Diana Kitchen; and her loving canine companions, Sparky, Maddie, and Kissi.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
