DIXIE S. SLAVENS, age 69, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 1:45 p.m. at the Fayette County Memorial Hospital. She was born on October 21, 1944 in Washington CH to Woodrow and Ruth Howe Howland. She was a 1962 graduate of Washington High School. She had worked at Vitamin World at the Tanger Outlet Mall. She enjoyed shopping, listening to the Bible on tape, spending time with her children and grandchildren and spoiling her beloved dog, Daisy. She was a member of the Heritage Memorial Church. Dixie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Dennis Slavens. Survivors include her children Angie, and her husband Randy Fisher and Mike, and his wife Kristi Slavens and grandchildren Joshua, Megan, Kayci, Katie Marie and Dylan. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Heritage Memorial Church with Pastors Bruce Morrison and Justin Siler officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery.
