DORIS D. LUTZ, age 90, of Washington CH, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 8:15 a.m. at the Court House Manor Nursing Home.
She was born on November 15, 1925 in Hundred, West Virginia to Arthur and Ethel Devine Thompson. She graduated from Wheeling High School in 1943 and then attended the West Liberty College where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Business. She was a business teacher at Washington City Schools where she retired from. Doris was an active member of the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church. She and her husband also owned and operated B&D Collectibles. She enjoyed going to flea markets, rock collecting and genealogy. Doris was also a member of the Fayette County Chamber Ambassadors.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Bernard A. Lutz, and one brother, Tom Thompson.
Survivors include her husband, Robert "Bob" Lutz, whom she married on May 7, 1949; her children, Robert T. Lutz, Linda M. Reser and Mary E. Howland; grandchildren, Mason Reser, Brian Lutz, Amanda Lutz, DeLonna Lutz, Jeremey Lutz, Tamara Lutz, Zach Lutz, Stacey (Jeff) Liston, Chad Howland, and Heather (Grover) Hunt as well as twelve great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church with Rev. Father Mike Hartge officiating with burial to follow at the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Summers Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.
