DOROTHY MORTON GROVES, age 74, of Washington CH, went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 2:55 p.m. at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

She was born on January 5, 1946 in South Salem, Ohio to Karl and Bina (Olaker) Truitt. She was a 1964 graduate of Miami Trace High School. Dorothy was a medical assistant to the late Dr. Hugh W. Payton. She also worked as a florist at Sancy's Flower Shop in Jeffersonville, and later retired from Fifth Third Bank.

Dorothy had attended church at the Bible Baptist Temple. She was known for her selfless acts of kindness and giving heart. She enjoyed interior design, cooking, baking, and being with her family and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, David Grayson Groves, whom she married on October 30, 1964; brother, John Truitt; and nephew, Darron Truitt.

Survivors include her daughters, Wendi Manor, and Gretchen (J.C.) Gilmore; grandchildren, Karl (Andria) Manor, Michael (Jade) Manor, Adam Joseph, Isaac (Cheyenne) Gilmore, and Josh Gilmore; great-grandchildren, Dustin, Landen, Carter, Grayson, Bella, Alexis, Xavier, and Evelynn Jaymes; and sister, Darlene (Roger) Pack. Also surviving are special nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear friends.

The graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in Jeffersonville with Pastor Jay Lucas officiating.
