EARL WALTER "BILL" BRUST, age 82, of Mt. Sterling, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at 7:15 a.m. at St. Catherine's Manor of Washington CH.
He was born on May 5, 1937 in Pike County to Leander "Lee" and Ethel Bosworth Brust. Bill retired in 2002 from the Battelle Institute in Columbus, Ohio. He had been a faithful member at the Mt. Sterling Nazarene Church for many years. Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed farming, growing sweet corn, camping, traveling, and being with his family.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife and mother of his children, Darlene Brust; son, Carey Brust; and brother, Dorse Brust.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Jean Wright Brust, whom he married on April 4, 1996; daughter, Chonita (Bill) Warner; step-children, Maylor Brown, and Lisa Boyd; daughter-in-law, Nancy (Jeff) Redding Brust Spears; grandchildren, Nathan (Chelsea) Warner, Jordan (Sterling) Harpst, Derek (Kaitlin) Warner, Janae (Kaleb) Vanamburg, Jaron (Bridget) Brust, Jordyn (Ed) Ravler, Jennifer Truman and her fiancé, Jesse Evilsizer, and Jasmine Truman and her fiancé, James Vance; great-grandchildren, Cole Warner, Hadley Harpst, Harper Warner, and Adalynn Evilsizer; and siblings, Dolly (Paul) Wickline, and David (Janice) Brust. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at the Pleasant Cemetery in Mt. Sterling with Rev. Dortha Ross and Bill Warner officiating. The graveside service will be streamed live on Facebook. Please see the official Facebook page of Summers Funeral Home.
