Obituary

EARL LANDRUM, age 90, of New Holland, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 6:20 a.m. at the Fayette County Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. He was born on May 6, 1924 in Pike County to Harry and Beatrice Franklin Landrum. He retired from farming in 2005. He was a member of the Madison Mills Methodist Church. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage, working on lawn mowers, frying bacon for his wife and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law Charles and Norma Jean Landrum and son-in-law David Souther. Survivors include his wife, Louise Martindill Landrum, whom he married on January 16, 1950; his children Michael (Peggy) Landrum of New Holland, Patty (John) Waddle of Sabina and Tony (Linda) Landrum of Madison Mills; grandchildren Michelle (Jarrod) Scott, Chad (Shannon) Landrum, Jason (Becky) Souther, Shane (Teri) Landrum and Jennifer (Jimmy) Mercer; 12 great-grandchildren and expecting a new baby shortly; sister Ruth Joanne (Homer) Curry of Washington CH; good friends Mike and Nancy Reeves as well as a host of friends. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Summers Funeral Home with Terry Martindill officiating with burial to follow at the New Holland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
