EMMA LOUISE JOHNSON, age 78, of Washington CH, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022 at her home.

She was born on May 30, 1944 in Cabin Creek, West Virginia to the late Bert and Myrtle (Bolin) Short. Emma had worked as a Nursing Assistant at Court House Manor for many years. She loved taking long rides in the car and on the back roads and she especially liked to visit Deer Creek State Park and Rocky Fork Lake. Emma also enjoyed going to yard sales, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and playing with her pets.

Survivors include her husband, James Edward "Tiny" Johnson, whom she married on January 22, 1988; her children, Thomas (Minda) Gray, John (Heather) Gray, Tim (Deanna) Gray and Teresa (Shawn) Rowland Detweiler. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Yoakum officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery, Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
