IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Everett Lee
Moorman
January 3, 1953 – January 24, 2025
EVERETT LEE "BIG E" MOORMAN, age 72, of Fairborn, Ohio, passed away at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025 in his home surrounded by loved ones. Born on January 3, 1953, in Xenia, Ohio, he was the son of the late Robert and Elizabeth Jones Moorman. He was also preceded in death by his brother Rick Moorman and a sister, Connie Penewit. On January 12, 2008, he married his wife of seventeen years, his "Baby", the former Luann Shaeffer.
Everett was the owner and operator of Moorman's Towing in Xenia from its opening in the 1970s until the company was sold in 1993. The company still runs today under the Moorman name and is recognizable by the "Moorman Blue" colored tow trucks. Everett was a dedicated man with an extraordinary work ethic. He later became a Lead Mechanic of Equipment Maintenance at ABX Air in Wilmington until his retirement.
Everett had a passion for classic and muscle cars and had owned over 500 of them in his lifetime. One of his cars, a classic yellow 1932 Ford Roadster, was featured on the cover of JEGS Magazine. He was excellent at restoring cars, he was so skilled that people would come from all over for his handy work, especially for his steady hand when it came to mastering the art of pinstriping. There was nothing Everett could not accomplish, being self taught in many trades he excelled in carpentry, electrical and plumbing projects.
Everett wasn't afraid of anything, he enjoyed riding his Honda Motorcycles, Three-Wheelers and Dirt Bikes. He even rode in helicopters and went bungee jumping. Everyone knew him as "the life of the party". Whether they were enjoying their permanent campsite at Longs Retreat, exploring the Smokies or spending time in Pigeon Forge he was always meeting new people, creating unforgettable memories with his ornery, funny and quick-witted personality. He was a wonderful husband to Luann, their life together was spent playing hard and loving harder. Everett loved all of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, developing special bonds with each one of them and instilling memories that will be remembered and cherished forever. The family would like to express a special thanks to his wife, children and grandchildren who helped with his care over the last several years. In addition to his loving wife, Luann, survivors include his children, Tracy (Mike) Mershon of Jamestown, Zach (Megan) Everhart of New Vienna and Zane (Emily) Everhart of Fairborn; his grandchildren, Dalana Mershon (Caleb) and Hunter Mershon; and his great-grandchildren, Alexavier, Liam, Hayden and Emmett. Also survived by his sister, Teresa (Donnie) Lovett of Xenia; two special nephews, David (Toni) Lamka and Thomas (Annie) Varvel; as well as several Great Nieces and Nephews. He is also survived by his beloved K-9 companion of fourteen years, "Bella Boo-Bop".
In keeping with Everett's wishes, cremation has taken place and no viewing or services will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life honoring Everett will be held at a later date by the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Summers Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
