Evie E. Sockman, age 64, of Mt. Sterling, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 5:20 a.m. at the Madison County Hospital.

She was born on September 28, 1949 in Ross County to Joshua and Katie Rayburn Coder. She had worked at the Glove Factory of Mt. Sterling. She loved spending time with her family.

Evie was preceded in death by her parents, sister MaryAnn Barnhart and brothers Earl and Don Coder.

Survivors include her husband Roger Sockman, whom she married on March 28, 1972; her son Brian Sockman; siblings John Coder, Violet Neal, Margaret Barnhart, Louise (David) Matthews and Marjorie (Jesse) Jessing as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Brother Richard Holliday officiating with burial to follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Range. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m.
