FLOYD E. HAWKINS, age 67, of Hillsboro, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at 9:21 p.m. at the Highland District Hospital. He was born on September 29, 1948 in Greenfield to Floyd Jr. and Christina Ethel Pryor Hawkins. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gloria Cox Hawkins, grandson Skyler Priest, great-granddaughter Piper Martin and brother Raymond Hawkins. Survivors include his son Greg Hawkins, daughter Melissa (Rob) Hedrick; grandchildren McCaylee Priest and Kensley Priest; great-grandson Lucan Putney; siblings, Randy (Cindy) Hawkins, Tom (Penny) Hawkins, Roger Hawkins, Pam (Andy) Williams and Kathy (Robert) Huffman; sister-in-law Terry Hawkins as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Barry Pettit officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be held at a later date at the Washington Cemetery.
