Obituary

FORREST E. RHOADES, age 88 of Washington Court House, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 11:40 a.m. of esophageal cancer at the Dayton VA Hospice. He was born May17, 1925 in Fayette Co to Zella L. and Edna E. (Wentz) Rhoades. He was a tool maker and an inspector at Buckeye Molding in New Vienna and was also an airplane mechanic for many years at North American Aviation. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII. Forrest was a 1943 graduate of Washington High School. He was a member of the American Legion Post 125, VFW no. 3762. He was also a life member at the AmVets, eagles no. 423, where he was a golden eagle and also a DAV. He was a member of the Fayette Co. Commission on Aging. He enjoyed automobiles and planes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Beverly (Jim) Moore, grandchildren, Max Craig Corns, Bethany (Beau) Shaw, and James Blake Moore, two great-grandchildren Nickolas and Katie Shaw, as well as a neice, Sharon (Tom) Grooms and Bonnie Grimes, as well as several great-nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 3:45 p.m. in the Milledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery with Jack Abels officiating. Friends may call at the Summers Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-3:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Fayette Co. 222 N. Oakland Ave. WCH, OH 43160.
