FREEDA U. EDWARDS, age 96, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 7:30 a.m. at the St. Catherine's Manor. She was born on December 10, 1917 in Fayette County to John and Susie Howland Butcher. She had worked at the US Shoe Factory of Greenfield for many years and also had worked as a caregiver. She was a member of the Hickory Lane Church of Christ. Freeda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald Edwards, siblings Isaac, Raymond, Charles, Carey and Jim Butcher, Ludene Haines, Nellie Jane Jarrett and Judith Butcher. Survivors include her siblings Mary (David) Beoddy and Clara Jean Mullikin; sisters-in-law Sib (Don) Yahn and Shelven Butcher as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Creamer officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery.
