GARY RUSSELL "BUTTWHEAT" CHAMBLISS, age 59, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 7:50 a.m. at his home.

He was born on December 5, 1958 in Jamestown, Ohio to James E. "Bud" and Vivian "Bea" Anderson Chambliss. Gary was formerly employed at the Yusa Corporation and New Sabina Industries. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, hunting, gardening, and being with his family and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his father; brothers, Richard "Dick" Chambliss, James "Jim" Chambliss; sister, Sharon Lee Montgomery; nephew, Gary Lee Montgomery; and his beloved canine companion, Willie Joe.

Survivors include his mother of Indiana; his wife, Wendy Chambliss, whom he married on October 9, 2004; children, Gary Chambliss Jr., Josh Chambliss, both of North Carolina, Jeffrey Spradlin, Cemeron (Krystal) Spradlin, and Bobbey (Sharon) Spradlin, all of Washington CH; grandchildren, Valerie Chambliss, Nathan Chambliss, Summer Chambliss, and Kailee "Kailee Bug" Spradlin; great-grandson arriving in December; sisters-in-law, Carol Chambliss, Barb Chambliss, Allyson (Ebey) Brown, Stacy (Bill) Johns, and Robin (Brian) Ferguson; brothers-in-law, Bob Montgomery, Jeff (Shiela) Johns, and Joey George; and special friend, Michelle Harper . Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Rev. Don Olley officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
