GARY A. FRYE, age 61, of Washington CH, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at his home. He was born on March 4, 1954 in Fayette County to W. Dean and Betty Shumaker Frye. He was a 1972 Washington High School graduate. He had been involved in Cub Scouts, Little League Baseball, was a former member of the Blue Lions Basketball Team. He loved camping, fishing and hunting with his dad and brother, Larry. He also enjoyed watching OSU basketball, football and Reds baseball. Gary was preceded in death by his father, brother Larry Dean Frye, grandparents Walter Frye, Etta Methena, Ralph and Vesta Shumaker and uncle Howard Shumaker. Survivors include his mother; his children Matthew Frye and Mindy (Frye) Self; grandson Austin Self and granddaughter Emma Frye; sister Barbara (Frye) Harter and her husband, Chuck, Uncle and Aunts Mike (Joan) Shumaker, Carol Smith and Raelena Shumaker; mother of his children, Sharon McCarty as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds and Jay Fabin officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
