GERALD LEE HURLES, age 77, of Washington Court House, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center. He was born on July 4, 1946 in Fayette County to the late Nelson and June Marie Doan Hurles. On December 20, 1966 he married the former Anna Lee McConkey, who survives.

Gerald was a 1964 graduate of Washington Senior High School. He then joined The United States Marine Corps. for six years, serving time in Vietnam. Gerald spent the next fourteen years proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force. Previously, Gerald attended Heritage Church, where he and Anna both met. He was a Master Carpenter and enjoyed fishing and going camping with his wife.

In addition, his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Gerald is survived by his children, Anthony (Heather) Hurles, Scott Hurles and Amy Stultz; his grandchildren, Brandon and Reagon Baker, Trevor and Morgan Hurles, Nickolas Hurles (Maddy Osborne), James Burt, Adam and Kayla Baker, Jaleigh Johnson and Blayne Hurles. Also surviving are his siblings, Harold Gene Hurles, Carolyn Kay Hurles and Gale Patrick (Dianna) Hurles.

Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, and his children, Angela Darlene and Jason Patrick Hurles.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024 in the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Christopher Conley of Harvest Life Worship Center officiating, burial to follow in the Bloomingburg Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Fayette County Honor Guard. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
