GERALD M. "JAKE" COX, age 74, of Washington Court House, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at his home. He was born on August 10, 1948 in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late Ralph and Rosalee Daniels Cox. On April 1, 1996 he married the former Mary Underwood who survives.

Jake was a graduate of Madison Plains High School and was retired from the City of Columbus after serving twenty five plus years as a fire fighter at station eight on Champion Avenue. In Jake's spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, motorcycles and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife, Jake is survived by his children, Aaron (Becky) Cox of Bexley, Tony Cox of Mt. Sterling, Holly (Larry) Chrisman, and Jason Kimball of Washington CH; his grandchildren, Kenzie Jabbar, Kory and Kaylee Kimball, Dylan Chrisman, Taylor Begley and Aly and AJ Cox and three great-grandchildren. Other survivors include, his brother, Ronnie Dale Cox of Gallipolis and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

In addition to his parents, Jake was preceded in death by his daughter, April Cox.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held.
