HARLAN G. BAIRD, age 84, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 4:48 p.m. at the St. Catherine's Manor where he had been a resident since July, 2012. He was born on May 18, 1929 in Frankfort, Ohio to Everett and Lulu Acton Baird. He was a 1948 graduate of Wayne High School of Good Hope. He proudly served his country in the US Navy on the aircraft carrier, the USS Antietam. Mr. Baird was the owner and operator of OK Tire Service since 1960. Harlan was preceded in death by his parents, his son Tony K. Baird in 1974 and brother Willard Baird. Survivors include his wife, Ann Ingram Baird, whom he married on June 22, 1952; his son and daughter-in-law Scott and Carmen Baird all of Washington CH; grandchildren Bethany (Michael) DiAngelis of New York City and Jordan Baird of Salisbury, Maryland; brother Wayne (Marcia) Baird of Washington CH as well as several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. at the Crossroads Christian Church of Washington CH with Todd Maurer officiating. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Highlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Crossroads Christian Church, 175 Halliday Way or Hospice of Fayette County, 222 N. Oakland Ave., both of Washington CH, OH 43160.
