HAROLD R. 'SONNY' DEWEES, age 77, of Washington CH, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2015, while in route to Mt. Carmel Medical Center. He was born on August 30, 1938 in Columbus, to the late Harold and Ethel Sheridan DeWees. He was a 1956 Washington High School graduate. He retired from Imperial Packaging of Dayton. After retirement, he enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels. He had been a member of the Air Guard and the Air Reserves. He loved cowboy action shootings, building pine wood derby cars and playing cards. Sonny is survived by his wife, Patty Moore DeWees, whom he married on April 13, 1968; his children Lori (Doug) Elder, Melissa DeWees, Roger DeWees and James DeWees and his grandson, Nick Woods. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Bruce Bunn officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery.
