HELEN JANE ALSPAUGH, age 81, of Sabina, formerly of Washington CH, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at 1:10 p.m. at the Clinton Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. She was born on June 24, 1933 in Raysville, Ohio to Carl and Ovia Martindale Penwell. She was a graduate of Bloomingburg High School, and retired from both CalMar and The Dollar Tree. She enjoyed crocheting, keeping up on world news on CNN and MS-NBC. She liked playing various computer games. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leland Alspaugh, grandson Robbie Alspaugh and brother, Dale Penwell. Survivors include her children Diane (Joe) Kielman, Steve (Joanie) Alspaugh, Penny (Charles) Pine, Danny (Jeannie) Alspaugh, Rusty "Buck" Alspaugh and Max "Scott" Alspaugh; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; siblings Carl (Gloria) Penwell and Vernon (Carol) Penwell as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Joy Stanforth officiating with burial to follow at the Bloomingburg Cemetery.
