JAMES "JIM" E. ELLARS JR., age 72, of Washington CH, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 12:45 p.m. at Signature Healthcare of Fayette County. He was born on June 22, 1942 in Fayette County to James Sr. and Naomi Kimmey Ellars. He had worked as a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed working on cars, riding motorcycles and was a good handyman. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Cathryn Ellars and his brother, Charles Cox. Survivors include his children James E. Ellars III, Dawn Forsythe, Jama Ellars, Judy Ellars McCreary and Jocelyn Ellars; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; siblings Connie Jones, Sharon Downard and Oma Marie Ellars as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Summers Funeral Home.
