Obituary

JAMES “HERF” GRAHAM, age 89, of South Salem, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2026 while surrounded by the love of his family.

Known to nearly everyone simply as “Herf,” he lived a full and creative life marked by dedication to his family, service to his country, and a deep appreciation for music, art, and craftsmanship.

Herf proudly served in the United States Navy as a Guided Missileman before beginning a long career with Lockheed Martin, where he worked as a Distribution Manager. He was respected for his strong work ethic and steady leadership throughout his career.

Outside of work, Herf was a man of many passions. He loved the arts and music, and many people came to know him through his exceptional woodworking talents. Whether creating something with his hands or enjoying the atmosphere of Scarborough Fair, Herf found joy in creativity, history, and community. His warm personality, unique spirit, and storytelling will be remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Wanda Graham; his brother, Robert “Bob" (Diane) Graham; and his children: Deborah Graham, Carol Graham, Barbara Graham, Bonnie Osborne (Joe), John Graham (Lori), David Graham (Lori), Chad Graham (Stephanie), and Miranda Munro (Marcus).

He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Logan Graham (Caitlin), Josh Church, Valerie Graham, Mary Graham, Melanie Graham, Casey Graham, Colton Graham, Lilly Graham, Alex Messick, Mindy Munro, Melody Munro, and Maria Munro.

Herf’s legacy lives on through the family he loved the friendships he built, and the many lives he touched through his kindness, creativity, and humor.

May fair winds and following seas accompany him home.
