JAMES R. "JIM" KNOX, SR., age 72, of Washington CH, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015 at his home. He was born on October 5, 1942 in Chillicothe, to Joseph and Emma Holton Knox. He had worked for the State of Ohio at the Pickaway Correctional Institute as an electrical foreman. He enjoyed watching Westerns, collecting model cars, reading and all genres of music. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gene and Pete Knox and his beloved canine, Spike. Survivors include his children Kelly Herd, James Knox Jr., Melanie (David) Johns and Larry (Toni) Knox; grandchildren Leslie Knox, Amanda Helsel, Jimmy Knox, Jasmine Herd and Levi, Brittany and Joey Knox; great-grandchildren Callie Jo, Elaina, Joshua-David and Lauren; siblings Lawrence "Bill" (Virginia) Knox and Ruth Madden, nieces and nephews as well as his cat, Furrocious and his dog, Bo. In keeping with his wishes, a memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Summers Funeral Home.
