JEAN ANN GROOMS SHADE, age 57, of Clarksburg, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 6:50 p.m. at the Fayette County Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. She was born on February 21, 1957 in Fayette County to Harvey and Dorothy Duncan Self. She had worked in the Dietary Department at Court House Manor for more than 25 years. She enjoyed auctions, yard sales, cooking and loved spending time with her family. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband George Grooms and brothers Jack and Jerry Self. Survivors include her husband Glen Shade, whom she married on October 26, 2002; her children Vincent Grooms and Chad Grooms; step-children Glen Shade III and Heather Kyle; grandchildren Ciera and Kyle Grooms and eight step-grandchildren; brother John (Carol) Self; sisters-in-law Sandy Self and Helen Self as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery.
