Obituary

JERRY LEE DECKER, age 79, of Greenfield, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 5:24 p.m. at the Four Seasons of Washington CH. He was born on January 24, 1935 in Cardington to Paul and Pauline McCann Decker. He had been involved in farming, raising cattle and was also the owner of several small businesses including the Walnut Camp Grounds of Jeffersonville and the Walnut Lake Cattle Company. He was a 1953 graduate of Cardington High School, was a member of the Buckeye State Sheriff's Association, Boys Town, Farm Bureau and the Producers Cattle Association. He enjoyed his canine companions, Bear and Hunter and thoroughly enjoyed socializing. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter. Survivors include his children Terry, Pat, Kelly, Jody, Danielle and Mike Decker; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; brothers Dave and Max Decker; special friend Wanda Troute and her children Jimmy, Delinna and Marty Troute and Todd Johnson, special friend Kathy Riley and her child Rane Mullins, friends Stacy Everhart, Rodney Knisley, Kirk Stuckey and Brad Everhart; nieces, nephews and cousins and lots of children that referred to him as "Grandpa Decker". The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Minister Kevin Stuckey officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the Rivercliff Cemetery in Mt. Gilead.
