Jerry L. Moore, age 77, of Greenfield, passed away at 6:14 p.m. on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe. He was born on May 23, 1944 in Urbana, Ohio to the late Everett and Alberta Thomas Moore.

Jerry was a 1963 graduate of Williamsport High School. After graduation Jerry was a farmer for many years until his retirement in 1980. He started a second career at Chillicothe Correctional Institute where he became the Farm Manager until his retirement in 2009. Jerry was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Williamsport and enjoyed tinkering around in his garage.

Survivors include his daughter; Leisa (Todd) Clay of Greenfield, his son; Scott (Regina) Moore of Washington Court House; grandchildren; Zach (Olivia) Clay, Jake (Sarah) Clay, Ryan Moore and his fiancé Brooke Connors and Jordan Moore and his girlfriend Carleigh Matson, two great-grandchildren; Tyler and Remi Clay, sister; Doris Chakeres of Columbus, brothers; Clyde Moore of Orient and Neil Moore of Washington Court House. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Paul, Gene and Dale Moore.

In keeping with Jerrys wishes, cremation will take place and a memorial service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 in the Summers Funeral Home with Mell Wickensimer officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Jerry's name to the American Cancer Society.
