JO LYNN (MCCOY) ADAMS, age 69, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13, 2026 at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.
She was born on August 26, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Homer Langdon “Corky” and Jacqueline (Allemang) McCoy. She was a 1974 graduate of Miami Trace High School. She went to nursing school and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for over twenty years and then returned to Southern State Community College of Nursing to obtain her degree as a Registered Nurse. She worked in various long-term care facilities and home health. Jo Lynn was an excellent nurse who cared deeply for her patients and made a positive and lasting impact on them along with their families. She enjoyed country living, gardening, cooking, and she loved her dogs.
In addition to her parents, Jo Lynn was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Lee Adams, whom she married on February 7, 1976, and her beloved daughter, Ashlee Lynn Adams. Jo Lynn desperately grieved the loss of her daughter at only sixteen years of age, but she continued with her life in the ensuing years.
Survivors include her siblings, Mike McCoy of Cincinnati, and sister and brother-in-law, Sue Ann (Randy-“Bro”) Creamer of Waynesville; nieces and nephews, Scott (Kelli) McCoy, Shelli (Brian) Cartwright, Mackenzie (Mike) Thompson, Ryan (Ali) Creamer, Ben (Tonya) Creamer, and TJ (Zi) Creamer; and her faithful canine companion, Willie Nelson. Also surviving are other nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Summers Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to www.summersfuneralhome.com
