JOAN "JO" WILLIAMS, age 80, of Washington CH, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 9:44 p.m. at the Adena Fayette Medical Center.

She was born on March 11, 1941 in Portsmouth, Ohio to Frank L. and Iva L. (Brown) Smith. Jo had worked as a nursing assistant most of her life. Her sister described her as always having a "sweet soul and spirit." She enjoyed shopping, working in her yard, and being with her family and friends.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Phil Williams; son, Ricky Lee Smith; siblings, Linda Oakes, and Larry Smith; and special friend, Tom Notole.

Survivors include her sons, Russell Hott, Timothy Hott, Eric Hott, and Jeff White; stepdaughter, Kathy Hott; and siblings, Clarence L. Smith, Sue (Gary) Anders, Jerrie (Gary) Wilson, Nancy A. Reed and her fiancé, Doug Phillips, and Karen (Reed) Framton. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
