JOHN SCOTT ACKLEY, age 64, of Washington CH, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023 at the Adena Fayette Medical Center. His death was sudden and unexpected.

He was born on October 27, 1958 in Fayette County to the late Richard M. and Lula M. (Partridge) Ackley. He was a 1977 graduate of Washington High School and Laurel Oaks where he studied mechanics. John was employed at Mac Tools and retired in 2010 after thirty-two years of service. He enjoyed watching sports, golfing, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren and his dogs.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Dewey Ackley.

Survivors include his wife, Karla Ann (Farmer) Ackley, whom he married on June 9, 1978; his son, John S. Ackley; grandchildren, Alexia A. (Nicolas Isbel) Ackley, and Alec A. (Chelsie Calhoun) Ackley; new great-grandson arriving in July; and siblings, Juanita Spears, Sara (Ronald) Helmick, Bernice Grooms, and Richard (Deanne) Ackley. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at the Summers Funeral Home from 1-3:00 p.m.
