JOHN R. BADGER, age 83, of Bloomingburg, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at the Mt. Carmel West Hospital.
He was born on June 20, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio. He was a 1948 graduate of Westerville High School and had attended the Ohio State University for two years where he was enrolled in the ROTC program. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Timkins of Columbus after 18 years of service and also Mac Tools (Stanley) after 18 years of service. He also managed the Freeman's Carry Out in Grove City. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn W. Rolison Badger, sons Mitchell T., John "Larry", Micheal T. and Randy W. Badger and their mother, Sharon Roth; brother F. Gene Badger; sisters-in-law Mary "Marge" McGee Badger and Marguerite Henderson; mother-in-law Marguerite Sutfin Gall; father-in-law Louis T. Gall; grandparents Ralph Rolison, Pearl Marsh Rolison, John Badger and Charlotte "Lottie" Critzer Badger and brothers-in-law Louis T. Gall Jr., Albert J. Gall and Bud Willard.
Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Gall Badger, whom he married on July 30, 1973 in Clintwood, Virginia; daughter Elizabeth M. and her husband David Mendenhall of Jeffersonville; grandchildren Joseph Allen and Mya Nicole Mendenhall, Randi Rene, Rachel Ann, Paul William "Little Larry"; daughter-in-law Irene Badger; aunt Maxine Allison; brothers-in-law Joe Gall, Willie (Karen) Gall, Lee Gall and Orville Henderson; sisters-in-law Rita Bolton, Theresa Willard, Bridgett (Ron) Cook, Nancy Gall and Sandy Gall and nieces Carolyn (Greg) Ehlen and Linda (Jim) Freeh.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no viewing or service. Cremation has taken place.
