JOHN STEPHEN BOYLAN, age 94, of Washington Court House, Ohio passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe. He was born on April 1, 1929 in Fayette County to the late Frank and Jean Brandt Boylan.
John was a 1947 graduate of Washington High School. He served four years in the United States Air Force where he taught Advanced Airborne Radio Repair. He was a partner with Robert Cannon in Boylan & Cannon Electronics for twenty-seven years until his retirement in 1990. They also formed the the Washington Leasing Company and kept this business until 2001. He also served with the Fayette County Auxiliary Sheriff's Department for many years. John was a lifelong member at the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church in Washington Court House, Ohio.
Survivors include his sons, Jeffrey (Debbie) Boylan of Mason, Ohio, and Joel (Rowena Sim) Boylan of South Carolina; granddaughter, Jennifer Boylan; stepchildren, Jeffrey Hall of Naples, Florida, Vicky Hall Stebelton, and Michael Hall, both of Washington Court House, Ohio. He is also survived by his first wife, Jacqueline Ruser Boylan, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
In 2013 he was preceded in death by his second wife of twenty years, Niki Hall Boylan; and his siblings, Nancy Jean Boylan Smith in 1993 and Francis William Boylan in 2016.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. C.M. Haddad officiating with burial to follow at the St. Colman Catholic Cemetery where full military rites will be accorded by the Fayette County Honor Guard. Family and friends may visit at the church on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:35 a.m. The Rosary Prayer will begin promptly 10:35 a.m.
