Obituary

JOHN EDWARD POTTLE, age 74, of Washington CH, was welcomed home by our Lord on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 4:50 a.m. John was born in Cornwall, New York on June 4, 1947 to John W. Pottle of Newfoundland, Canada and Hazel E. Going of Amsterdam, New York. John graduated from Valley Central in Montgomery, New York. He then proudly served in the US Army until his honorable discharge. He has been a beloved employee and volunteer throughout his life including; Mid Hudson Oxygen, New York; Mid Ohio Chemical, Ohio; Coldenham Fire Department, New York, and Fayette County EMS, Ohio.

John is survived by his wife, Nancy Farmer-Pottle; children, Jordan Pottle, Stephanie (Jason) Roe, and Shane (Amber) Griffin; and five grandchildren; Dustin, Levi, Branten, Jaxson, and Danika. He is also survived by his sister Gail Horvath of Grove City and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

John was a giving and loving man of his word that always stood for what he believed in. He is dearly loved and will be missed beyond measure.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Kurt Cordy officiating with burial to follow at the South Solon Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. A gathering will be held at the Jeffersonville Lions Club immediately following burial to continue celebrating the life of John E. Pottle.
