JOHN W. THOMAS, age 69, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 6:10 p.m. at the Court House Manor Nursing Home. He was born on February 5, 1945 in Washington CH to the late Gilbert and Ruby Thomas. He had been working at the Community Action for the Head Start Program and also coaching track at Washington High School. He was a 1963 Washington High School graduate, was a member of the Rodgers Chapel AME and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending many sporting events. Survivors include his wife Roberta Wilson Thomas, whom he was married to for 51 years; his children John, and his wife Alicia Thomas of Pickerington and Chad, and his wife Amy Thomas of Illinois; grandchildren Jonathan, McKenzie, Gio, Tori and Tyla; brothers Gilbert, Tony and Gary Thomas. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made in his honor at the Merchants National Bank and the US Bank.
