Obituary

JULIA FAYE WHITESIDE SHADLEY, age 70, of Washington CH, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 1:50 p.m. in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on August 9, 1944 in Fayette County to Harold and Virginia Paul Whiteside. She was a member of Heritage Memorial Church and Bookwalter Church of Christ in Christian Union, where she had been very active. She enjoyed singing, cooking, crocheting, word search, gardening and flowers, but most of all loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Faye was preceded in death by her parents, her son John Fred Shadley, sister Mildred "Peanut" Whiteside and sister-in-law Laura Whiteside. Survivors include her husband Fred Shadley, whom she married on February 9, 1973; her children Annette Shadley (and Jimmy Sizemore) and Tex Shadley; grandchildren Christian and Madaysia; brother Clayton Whiteside, as well as nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Church, 1867 US Rt. 35 NE, with Rev. Mike Hodge and Pastor Bruce Morrison officiating with burial to follow at the Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the family to help with final expenses. Arrangements are under the direction of the Summers Funeral Home.
