KAREN ELAINE CAPEHART, age 64, of Washington CH, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020 at 4:35 a.m. at Mount Carmel Grove City.

She was born on September 27, 1955 in Franklin County to the late Clyde and Josephine Coey Darst. After high-school, Karen attended Southern State Community College to become an Emergency Medical Technician. She had worked at the former Auburn Manor as a State Tested Nursing Assistant. Karen attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Greenfield. She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, knitting, and being with her family.

Survivors include her significant other of twenty-eight years, Rosemary Cottrell; children, Tammy (Hugo) Echevarria, Larry (Devon) Capehart, Jeremy Capehart, Angela Capehart, Kelly Capehart, Kari Hunter, Emilie Capehart, and Daniel Capehart; step-children, Ashley Cottrell, Todd Cottrell, and William "Bill" Cottrell; twenty-seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and siblings, Debbie (Elmer) Schaeffer, Joanna Sharon, and Edward Darst. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Highlawn Cemetery with Jon Glover officiating. Family and friends may visit at the Summers Funeral Home on Friday from 11:30-12:30 p.m.
