KAREN SUE SOCKMAN, age 74, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 12:25 p.m. at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.

She was born on March 13, 1947 in Fayette County to Roscoe and Laura (Schreckengaust) Riley. Karen was a stay-at-home Mom, raising five children. She was currently employed part-time at the SAS Factory Shoe Store in Jeffersonville. Karen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed cooking, baking, taking trips to the Amish Country and being with her beloved family.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Dena Lynn Lyons; and siblings, Fran Enright, James Riley, Scott Riley, Fred Riley, and Jim Riley.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald L. Sockman, Sr.; children, Ronald L. Jr. (Kelly) Sockman, Richard A. (Karey) Sockman, Christopher R. (Amy) Sockman, and Michael W. (Donna) Sockman; grandchildren, Ashely (Phillip Jr.) Groves, Wade Sockman, Courtney (Dan) Grovatt, Kristen (Jordan) Ralph, Laura Sockman, Cole Sockman, Ashley (Tim) Baker, and Jake (Molly) Allen; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Alex, Anthony, McKenna, Lydia, Jude, June, and Caroline; and siblings, Ross (Jan) Riley, Judy Riley, Mike Riley, and Jenta Klebs. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear and special friends.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Justice officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5-7:00 p.m.
