KAROLYN KAY SHAW, age 75, of Washington CH, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023 at her home.

She was born on October 16, 1947 in Hocking County, Ohio to the late Kenneth Olis and Eva Ruth (Brown) Mount. She was a 1965 graduate of Logan High School. Karolyn retired from the Washington CH Kmart after many years of service as a salesclerk. She attended the Good Hope Community Church. She enjoyed roller skating in her younger years, vacations to Myrtle Beach, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Karolyn was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Hoover; sister-in-law, Diane Sowders; and brothers-in-law, Wayne Shaw, Gary Shaw, and Richard "Chuck" Shaw.

Survivors include her loving husband, John David Shaw, whom she married on December 30, 1966; sons, Rob (Jodi) Shaw and Chris Shaw; grandchildren, Kassidy (Matt) Wisecup, Travis Shaw, and Emily (Caleb) Blouse; six great-grandchildren; sister, Diana (Gary) Miller; brother-in-law, Eddie Hoover; sisters-in-law, Carol Shaw and Linda Shaw; and best friend, Wanda McCarty. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Don Olley officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
