KATHY JO BOLTENHOUSE

Age 73, of Mount Sterling, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at her home.

She was born on June 1, 1952 in Lucasville, Ohio to the late Albert and Alice (Nease) Hodge. She was a graduate of Northwest High School in Scioto County.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, fishing, and reading a good book. Kathy was always a giver. She spent many years taking care of others. She was also a firm believer in second chances. She always believed in you as a person and not what you have done or not done in your life. Kathy would tell you to live every second of your life to the fullest because there may not always be a tomorrow.

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her two husbands, Arthur "Don" Johnson, and John Boltenhouse; grandson, David McKee; and siblings, Wanda Windsor, Wilma Cooper, Wills, Richard, David, James, William, Clarence Wayne, and Howard Hodge.

Survivors include her children, Julie (Robert) Caldwell, Donald Johnson, and Tammy (Mark) Rarey; grandchildren, William (Deanna) Caldwell, Jonathan Caldwell, Caitlin (Matt) Ooten, Andrew Johnson, Chelsea Johnson, Michael Johnson, Paige (Cody) Rinehart, and Rubie (Derek) Hottinger; great-grandchildren, Eli, Zackary, Gracelynn, Brennah, Kyleigh, Kennedy, Kelsey, Carter, Iker, TJ, Jayden, Bentley, Braxton, Brailyn, Kaisyn, Rayleigh, Allie, Landon, Aayden, Logan, Leilah, Mathew, and Isiah; and siblings, Barbara Speer, Alice (Rick) Windsor, and Allen Hodge. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Hodge officiating with burial to follow at the Madison Mills Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
