LATISHA JO STEWART, age 53, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 4:27 p.m. at her home after a brave and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born on January 28, 1969, in Fayette County to Harold Truman and Sue Ellen (Wilson) Mathews. She was a 1987 graduate of Miami Trace High School. Latisha worked as manager at First American Loan in Washington CH. She and her husband, Brian, volunteered for several years at the Fayette County Life Squad in the early nineties; she was also a member at the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church. Latisha was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, nana, sister, and aunt. She enjoyed collecting lighthouses, watching cooking shows, and spending time with her beloved family and grandchildren.
Latisha was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harold and Irene Mathews, and Clifford and Mildred Wilson, and father-in-law, Kenneth W. Stewart, Jr.
Survivors include her parents, Harold and Sue Mathews; her husband, Brian Troy Stewart, whom she married on June 20, 1987; children, Timothy Stewart and his fiancé, Heidi Williamson, Chasity (Zach) Ellenberger, and Devin Stewart; grandchildren, Sadie, Rylie, Cole, Taegan, Payton, Talon, and Lawson; and brothers, Kevin (Tracy) Mathews, and Kirk (Stacey) Mathews. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, 4679 SR 41 SE, Washington CH, OH 43160, with Pastor Todd Wallace officiating with burial to follow at the Sugar Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the church on Wednesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
