LAWRENCE M. "MIKE" BEEKMAN, age 63, of Washington CH, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 10:17 p.m. at Signature Healthcare. He was born on October 18, 1952 in Columbus, Ohio to Lawrence and Virginia Stickel Beekman. He was a 1971 Madison South High School graduate and attended college and received his Associates Degree in Agriculture. He retired from Calmar and also had worked at Mid-Ohio Chemical. Mike was a member of the Gregg St. Worship Center, was a foster parent for 22 years, had helped with the Tend Lamb Food Pantry for 10 years, and served as a driver for the Minnenites and Amish. He enjoyed woodworking, baking and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Allyann Beekman, and sisters Hilda Beekman, Blanche Beekman Swackhammer. Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Bowman Beekman; his children, Holly (Jonathan) Knotts, Bryan (Kayla) Beekman, Jade Raines, Tiffany Beekman, Joshua Hurley, Michael Cox, Isaiah Beekman as well as bonus children, Tiffany, Amanda, Michelle and many others; grandchildren, Halilei, Zoei, Elijah and Jaxson Knotts and Owen Beekman; brothers John Beekman and Timothy (Deb) Beekman as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gregg St. Worship Center with Pastor Don Dillon officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to the funeral home to help with final expenses. Arrangements are under the direction of the Summers Funeral Home.
