Obituary

LEE E. CUMMINS, age 78, of Washington CH, passed away at 4:12 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at his daughter's home. He was born on November 4, 1935 in Birdseye, Indiana to Lloyd and Effie Blunk Cummins. He retired from the W.A. Butler Company as a veterinary medicine salesman. He enjoyed playing euchre, the Cincinnati Reds, old westerns and horse racing. He owned both standardbred and thoroughbred horses. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Donna Combs Cummins, grandson Aric Powell, great-grandson Avery Plummer, his grandparents who raised him after the death of his parents, Amos and Aldora Blunk. Survivors include his children Ellen Barrett, Rita Bondurant, Janie (Larry) Powell and Paula (Norman) Broun; grandchildren Robin (Tony) Norris, Mike (Carmia) Barrett, Alesa (George) Plummer, Chuck (Michele) Krueger, Chris Krueger, Tori (Chris) Nance, John Krueger, Mandy Woyan, Nick (Jessica) Woyan, Adam (Ashley) Powell, Jared (Amber) Powell, Josh (Brandie) Lindsey, Noah Broun and Cammy Brown; 16 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Kathy Yoakum officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Hospice of Fayette County for the care and attention that was given to the family during this difficult time.
