LESLIE (LES) H. MERRITT age 65, of Washington Court House, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday March 7, 2025, at St. Catherine's Manor of Washington C.H. He was born December 8, 1959, in Fayette County to the late Dale and Carolyn Anthony Merritt.
Les was a 1978 graduate of Washington Senior High School. For more than fifteen years he worked at Ferno Washington and most recently in local retail stores. He had a big heart and liked to make people laugh. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Les also liked building things and tinkering in his garage.
Survivors include his mother, Carolyn A. Merritt; his daughters, Fawne "Micky" (Scott) Krape, Tawny (Dennis) Mitchell and Sara Merritt; his grandchildren, Logan, Addison and Beckett Krape, Branton (Kaylin), Jayden, Toby, and Lynlee Mitchell and his great granddaughter Ella. Also surviving is his brother, Kurt (Dawn) Merritt, his sister- in- law, Rhonda Merritt and special nieces, Kisha and Jamee Merritt and Shannon Newman. Les also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and extended family along with his special friend, Billie Jo Miley.
In addition to his father, Les was proceeded in death by brothers, Pat Merritt and infant brother John.
A graveside service, open to the public, will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, in the Milledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery with Pastor Bobby Seymour officiating. No viewing or visitation will be held prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested directly to the funeral home to assist the family with Les's final expenses.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Summers Funeral Home.
