LINDA L. SHASTEEN, age 67, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 1:04 p.m. at the Mt. Carmel Medical Center. She was born on October 9, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Leroy McCarty and Mary Underwood McCarty Johnson. She was a 1964 Washington High School graduate. She had previously worked as the Administrative Secretary for the City of Washington. She was a member of the Heritage Memorial Church where she had also volunteered in the church office and also a member of the Maranatha Sunday school class. Linda enjoyed listening to southern gospel music, cooking and spending time with her grandson but most of all she loved her Lord and Savior. Linda is survived by her husband Francis Shasteen Jr., whom she married on February 14, 1983; daughter Shay Pinkerton; grandson Gage Stuckey; sister Bonnie Johnson; cousin Nancy Leath as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Heritage Memorial Church, 1867 US Rt. 35 NW, with Pastor Bruce Morrison officiating. A gathering of family and friends take place from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Summers Funeral Home.
